Built in Columbia.
For students.
BreadStack started because we kept going broke before Friday and had no idea where the money went. So we built the app we wished existed.
It started at Mizzou.
Wesam and Marcell grew up in the Mizzou student community in Columbia, MO. They built BreadStack because they kept watching their friends go broke before Friday with no system to stop it.
The problem was not laziness. It was visibility. Nobody around them knew exactly how much was left for each category until it was already gone. Mint showed it after the fact. Spreadsheets were too much work. YNAB was built for adults with salaries, not people living week to week.
So Wesam built BreadStack. The idea was simple: create a digital envelope for every spending category, set a limit, and log every spend. When the envelope hits zero, you stop. No bank sync needed. No complicated dashboards. Just clarity at the point of decision.
BreadStack launched on the App Store and immediately found its audience. Students who were tired of the cycle of getting paid, spending without thinking, going broke, and repeating it finally had a system that worked with how they actually live.
The team behind BreadStack.
We built BreadStack because we believe every college student deserves to spend with intention, not just find out they are broke after the fact.
